Hey, I’m Dave

On July 1, 1980, the bank I started with asked me to go into their mortgage business. The industry certainly seemed interesting, so I accepted the position right away. 40 years later and I can honestly say, I made one of the best decisions of my life that day.

I've spent the last decade working with Atlantic Bay, and it's been quite the journey to see, firsthand, how much this company has grown and evolved in a short time. Not too long ago, we didn't have an Operations presence in the Carolinas. Our President Stan Holland hired me to bring on underwriters, processors, and closers. Then, our CEO Brian Holland asked me to start looking for Mortgage Bankers and leaders to take Atlantic Bay to the next level in the Carolinas. At the time, we only had two salespeople, John Wines and Steve Funderburk. Flash forward to today and we have more than 150 salespeople lending peace of mind to borrowers across the two states.

But it truly was a team effort. Regional President Brian Mason made a big impact on me early on when I started the Operations Center in Charlotte. When I joined Atlantic Bay, Brian thanked me for taking, what he called, a leap of faith. He along with Stan were tremendous mentors to me. I'm incredibly proud of how much we've grown and established our patented Atlantic Bay culture in a new region so quickly.

In my free time, I'm an active member of the Mortgage Bankers Association, and I like to stay involved with my church's rescue missions and other charitable efforts. On the weekends, I enjoy golfing, traveling, and spending as much time with my family as possible. There's never a dull moment with my wife Karen; our three sons Chad, Brandon, and Ryan; our daughter-in-law Shannon; my father Ed Dillard; and our grandchildren Cole, Ava, Bryce, Cora, and Rylee.
